COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Sport Management / Bachelor of Business at Victoria University is a 384 credit point program designed to develop strong skills in both sport industry management and business administration. The course structure includes 96 credit points of first-year core units, 192 credit points of professional core units, and 96 credit points of business major studies chosen from an approved list. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in areas such as financial literacy, marketing, business analytics, ethics and sustainability, business law, people and organisations, and introductory sport and recreation studies. The professional core units then expand learning into advanced areas including leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship, managing people, organisational change, sport ethics, sponsorships, sociology of sport, workplace readiness, sport facility management, and research and evaluation in sport. Students also gain practical experience through workplace learning and industry-focused units such as sport programming, inclusion in sport, and community development. The final component allows students to specialise further through a business major such as marketing, event management, finance, tourism, supply chain management, or business analytics. This combination of sport-specific and business-focused education prepares graduates for careers in sport management, event coordination, sport administration, business consulting, marketing, and organisational leadership across both sport and corporate sectors.
