COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Psychological Studies/Bachelor of Business at Victoria University is a 384-credit-point double degree that integrates psychology with business education to develop graduates who understand both human behaviour and organisational systems. The program begins with first-year core studies covering foundational psychology (Psychology 1A and 1B), research methods, ethics and sustainability, economic concepts, people and organisations, and introductory business concepts. In the second year, students build deeper knowledge in developmental psychology, marketing theory, innovation and entrepreneurship, financial decision-making, business law, and advanced psychology units, along with elective psychology subjects. The third year focuses on advanced psychological theory, clinical aspects, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and specialised business knowledge through a selected business major such as marketing, human resource management, accounting, or management and innovation. In the final year, students study workplace psychology, advanced research methods, and complete either fieldwork or workplace learning, while continuing both psychology electives and major-specific business studies. The course structure ensures a balance between theoretical understanding and practical application, equipping students with skills in analysing behaviour, managing people, and making strategic business decisions. Graduates are prepared for careers in human resources, marketing, organisational development, business management, community services, and government roles, with strong interdisciplinary expertise in both psychology and business.
