COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Physical Education and Sport Science at Victoria University is a 288-credit-point program designed to develop expertise in physical activity, sport, health, and human movement. It consists of 96 credit points of First Year Core units, 144 credit points of Professional Core units, and 48 credit points of Minor studies. In the first year, students study foundational subjects such as Structural Kinesiology, Resistance Training, Biomechanics, Human Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition and Diet for Exercise and Physical Education, Exercise and Sport Psychology, and Introduction to Sport and Social Analysis. The professional core builds advanced understanding through units like Motor Learning, Social Dimensions of Sport and Exercise, Sport and Social Analysis, Inclusion and Diversity in Physical Activity, and Critical Issues in Physical Education and Sport. Students also engage in practical movement-based learning including Aquatic and Athletic Movement Activities, Rhythmic and Expressive Movement, Major and Minor Games, and Games and Sports. Additional study areas include Growth and Motor Development, Perspectives on Physical Education, and Social Bases of Health from a global perspective. Alongside these, students select a minor from disciplines such as Psychology, Sport Coaching, Fitness and Conditioning, Biology, History, Mathematics/Statistics, Environmental Science, Student Welfare, or Literary Studies, allowing them to tailor their degree to specific career goals in education, coaching, health, or sport science fields.
