COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Victoria University is a 288-credit-point program designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in human movement, exercise, and sport performance. It consists of 96 credit points of First Year Core units, 144 credit points of Professional Core units, and 48 credit points of Minor studies. In the first year, students build foundational understanding through subjects such as Structural Kinesiology, Human Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Resistance Training, Human Growth and Lifespan Development, Indigenous Health and Wellbeing, and Introduction to Practice and Research in Exercise and Sport Science. In the second year, learning progresses into applied areas including Nutrition and Diet for Exercise and Physical Education, Motor Learning, Advanced Resistance Training, Functional Kinesiology, Physical Activity and Health in Society, and Sport and Exercise Practice. In the final year, students study advanced topics such as Advanced Exercise Physiology, Advanced Biomechanics, Motor Control, Advanced Training and Conditioning, Diversity and Inclusion in Exercise and Sport Science, and complete a Sport Practice Capstone unit. Throughout the course, students also complete a chosen minor, such as Clinical Practice or Sport Practice, allowing further specialisation. The program blends scientific theory with practical application, preparing graduates for careers in exercise science, fitness, rehabilitation support, sport performance, and health promotion.
