COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Accounting at Victoria University is a 288 credit point program designed to build strong technical, analytical, and professional skills for careers in accounting, finance, and business analysis. The course is structured into three main parts: 96 credit points of first-year core studies, 96 credit points of professional core studies, and 96 credit points of either a major or a combination of minors. In the core studies, students develop foundational knowledge in accounting principles, business systems, and financial decision-making. The professional core strengthens applied skills in areas such as accounting practice, data analysis, and business problem-solving using real-world case studies and industry-based projects. For the final 96 credit points, students can choose Option A, which involves completing a full major, or Option B, which combines two minors including Finance and Professional Skills plus another approved minor. Available majors and minors include Business Analytics, Data and Information Systems Management, Finance, and Risk Management, allowing students to specialise in high-demand business fields. The program is also aligned with professional pathways such as CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), supporting global career recognition.
