COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Nursing (Pre-Registration) is a 102-credit-point postgraduate program designed to prepare students for professional registration as registered nurses and for practice in a wide range of healthcare environments. The course is structured over two years, with an additional 6-credit-point intensive subject completed in January and February, followed by 48 credit points in Year 1 and 48 credit points in Year 2. The intensive subject provides an early foundation in essential nursing knowledge and skills, helping students transition into the program and prepare for clinical and academic learning. In Year 1, students focus on core nursing concepts, applied health sciences, and foundational clinical skills. They also begin developing critical thinking, communication, and patient care abilities through classroom learning, simulation labs, and introductory clinical experiences. In Year 2, students advance to more complex nursing practice, including management of acute and chronic conditions, evidence-based practice, leadership, and professional nursing responsibilities. A significant component of the program is clinical placement, where students complete approximately 840 hours across various healthcare settings, including hospitals and community health services. These placements allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world environments under supervision.
