COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science with a major in Ecology and Conservation Biology is a 144 credit point undergraduate degree designed to provide students with a strong foundation in biological sciences and specialised knowledge in ecosystem management and biodiversity conservation. The program is structured over three years, beginning with a first year of 48 credit points that introduces core scientific principles in biology, chemistry, and related disciplines. This foundational year helps students develop essential laboratory and analytical skills required for advanced ecological study. In the second and third years, students complete 108 credit points within the Ecology and Conservation Biology major (MAJ44152), where they study interactions between organisms and their environments and learn how to apply ecological principles to real-world conservation challenges. Key areas of study include biodiversity, evolution, genetics, marine biology, ecosystem dynamics, and environmental monitoring. Students gain practical experience through both laboratory work and field-based learning, where they develop skills in species identification, ecological surveying, and data analysis.
