COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Human Resource Management) is a 144 credit point undergraduate degree delivered over three years at the Wollongong campus, designed to provide a strong foundation in psychology combined with specialised knowledge in managing people within organisations. The program is structured so that students complete 48 credit points per year across first, second, and third year, ensuring gradual development of both psychological theory and applied workplace skills. In the first year, students are introduced to core psychology subjects covering key areas such as cognition, social behaviour, developmental psychology, and research methods, along with foundational knowledge of human behaviour and scientific inquiry. In the second year, students deepen their understanding of psychological principles while beginning to connect them with organisational and workplace contexts. In the third year, students complete advanced psychology subjects alongside the Human Resource Management major (MAJ40273), which is worth 48 credit points and focuses on key HR areas such as recruitment and selection, employee development, performance management, workplace relations, organisational change, remuneration, and occupational health and safety. This major develops skills in managing people effectively within business environments. Overall, the degree equips graduates with strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, preparing them for careers in human resources, organisational development, management, and other people-focused roles in both public and private sectors.
