COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Mathematics Advanced is a 144-credit-point program designed for high-achieving students with strong mathematical ability, offering an intensive and structured pathway through advanced mathematical and statistical concepts. The degree is completed over three years, with each year consisting of 48 credit points and a carefully sequenced curriculum that builds from foundational theory to advanced applications. In the first year, students study core subjects such as algebra, calculus, complex analysis, numerical mathematics, statistics, and introductory mathematical reasoning, forming a strong base in both pure and applied mathematics. In the second year, the program progresses into higher-level topics including multivariate calculus, linear algebra, group theory, probability, differential equations, mathematical modelling, real analysis, and data analytics, along with a mathematical sciences project that develops early research and problem-solving skills. In the third year, students engage in advanced study through subjects such as partial differential equations, optimisation, stochastic methods, statistical modelling, and specialised topics in pure and applied mathematics. A capstone project is also completed, allowing students to integrate their knowledge and apply it to complex mathematical problems. Throughout the degree, students develop strong analytical reasoning, abstraction, and quantitative modelling skills. The program prepares graduates for careers in data science, analytics, finance, technology, engineering, research, and academia, as well as providing a strong foundation for postgraduate study in mathematics and related fields.
