COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) is a 144-credit-point program designed for students who already hold a non-law degree and wish to transition into legal study for professional practice or broader career advancement in areas such as business, government, policy, and international relations. The degree is structured over three years and combines 114 credit points of core legal subjects with 30 credit points of electives, allowing students to build both a strong foundation in law and a degree of specialisation. In the first year, students study essential foundational subjects including Foundations of Law, Legal Skills, Contract Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Statutory Interpretation, and Ethics and Professional Responsibility, which develop core legal reasoning and analytical skills. In the second year, students progress to more advanced core subjects such as Property Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Tort Law, Equity and Trusts, and Jurisprudence, alongside a mandatory Legal Internship that provides practical professional exposure. The third year focuses on advanced legal study, including subjects like Remedies and Civil Procedure, Law of Business Organisations, Evidence, and a range of elective options. Students also complete 30 credit points of electives from specialised areas such as international law, environmental law, human rights, corporate law, intellectual property, technology law, and criminal justice. The program develops strong skills in legal research, advocacy, drafting, negotiation, and critical analysis, preparing graduates for careers in legal practice, corporate sectors, government roles, and policy-related professions.
