COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of International Studies with a major in Global Sustainable Development is a 144-credit-point program designed to prepare students to understand and address major global challenges related to sustainability, inequality, poverty, and human development. The degree is structured over three years, with each year consisting of 48 credit points that progressively build knowledge of international systems, global politics, cultural interactions, and sustainable development practices. In the first year, students develop foundational understanding of international studies, including global political systems, social and cultural dynamics, environmental issues, and critical approaches to global development. During the second year, students deepen their understanding of human and environmental security, international development, social justice, and the ethical dimensions of sustainability, while also strengthening research, communication, and analytical skills. In the third year, students focus on advanced global development issues and policy-oriented perspectives, examining how economic, political, and environmental systems interact to shape societies worldwide. As part of the program, students complete a 48-credit-point major in Global Sustainable Development, exploring topics such as sustainable communities, environmental governance, inequality, and development strategies from interdisciplinary perspectives.
