COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Dean’s Scholar program) is a 144-credit-point high-achievement pathway designed for academically excellent students who want to extend their studies in information technology. The program is structured over three years, beginning with a 48-credit-point first year that introduces core IT concepts such as programming, problem-solving, database systems, networking, cybersecurity, and web technologies. These foundational subjects build essential technical and analytical skills required for advanced study in computing and information systems. In the second year, students complete another 48 credit points, where they develop more advanced knowledge in areas such as software development, systems analysis and design, information systems, human-computer interaction, and IT project management. The third year also consists of 48 credit points and focuses on applying IT knowledge to complex, real-world problems through advanced study in areas such as enterprise systems, digital solutions, and professional IT practice. In addition, students complete 6 credit points of Dean’s Scholar subjects, which provide enriched academic content, research exposure, and enhanced learning opportunities beyond the standard curriculum. The program encourages high academic performance, independent thinking, and progression into honours and research pathways. Graduates are well prepared for careers in software engineering, systems analysis, cybersecurity, IT consulting, database administration, and digital technology roles, as well as for further study in advanced computing and research fields.
