COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Dean’s Scholar) with a major in Network Design and Management is a 144-credit-point program designed to prepare students for advanced careers in designing, managing, and securing modern computer networks and digital systems. The degree is structured over three years, beginning with a 48-credit-point first year that builds strong foundational skills in programming (Python), cybersecurity fundamentals, database management systems, system analysis, object-oriented programming, networking, and web technologies. These core subjects provide essential technical knowledge for further IT study. In the second year, students complete 48 credit points of advanced core subjects, including IT project management, human-computer interaction, emerging technologies, knowledge and information engineering, management information systems, and generative AI, along with elective options that allow early specialisation. The third year includes advanced study in software development methodologies and a major capstone project that runs across the final year, where students work in teams to solve real-world IT and networking problems. Students also complete specialised major subjects in Network Design and Management, focusing on enterprise networking, cloud systems, infrastructure design, and cybersecurity. In addition, Dean’s Scholar students complete an advanced 6-credit-point subject from areas such as enterprise architecture or health informatics. The program emphasises both technical depth and professional skills, preparing graduates for careers in network engineering, cybersecurity, cloud computing, IT infrastructure management, and enterprise systems across global industries.
