COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Exercise Science and Rehabilitation is a 192-credit-point program designed to prepare students for professional practice as exercise physiologists who use evidence-based exercise to improve health, restore function, and enhance quality of life for individuals with chronic conditions, injuries, and disabilities. The degree is structured over four years, beginning with a 48-credit-point first year that builds a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, neuromechanics, exercise physiology, and health science. These foundational subjects develop an understanding of how the human body responds to exercise and physical stress. In the second year, students complete another 48 credit points, focusing on more advanced studies in exercise prescription, clinical foundations, and movement science, strengthening their ability to assess and support diverse populations. The third year continues with 48 credit points of more specialised learning in clinical exercise physiology, rehabilitation principles, and evidence-based intervention strategies for chronic disease and injury management. In the fourth year, students complete the final 48 credit points, focusing on advanced clinical application, integrated practice, and professional readiness. A key feature of the program is extensive practical training, including supervised placements in clinical and community settings, ensuring students gain real-world experience essential for accreditation. Graduates are well prepared for careers in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, private clinics, aged care, workplace health programs, and community health services, contributing to improved functional outcomes and population health.
