COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Exercise Science is a 144-credit-point program designed to prepare students for professional roles focused on improving health, fitness, and human performance through exercise. The degree is structured over three years, beginning with a 48-credit-point first year that builds a strong foundation in core scientific disciplines such as anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, psychology, and nutrition. These foundational subjects help students understand how the human body responds and adapts to physical activity. In the second year, students complete another 48 credit points, where they develop more advanced knowledge in exercise prescription, neuromechanics, health science, and fitness assessment, while also strengthening their practical and analytical skills. The third year, also 48 credit points, focuses on advanced application of exercise science principles, including program design, chronic disease prevention, rehabilitation support, and performance enhancement strategies for diverse populations. Throughout the program, students learn how to design, implement, and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions using evidence-based and person-centred approaches. The course also emphasises real-world readiness, ensuring students can apply scientific knowledge in community, sporting, clinical, and commercial settings. Graduates are well prepared for careers in fitness and wellness centres, sporting organisations, corporate health programs, and community health services, where they contribute to improving physical activity levels, preventing chronic disease, and enhancing overall quality of life.
