COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Double Major in Civil Engineering and Mining Engineering) is a 240-credit-point program designed to develop strong technical, analytical, and professional engineering skills for careers in infrastructure and resource industries. The structure of the degree begins with a 48-credit-point first year, where students study core engineering fundamentals such as mathematics, physics, engineering principles, design thinking, and introductory discipline knowledge across different fields of engineering. From the second year onwards, students complete a 192-credit-point double major in Civil Engineering and Mining Engineering, gaining in-depth knowledge in both disciplines. Civil Engineering studies focus on structural design, construction materials, geotechnical engineering, transport systems, and infrastructure development, while Mining Engineering covers mineral extraction, mine planning, rock mechanics, resource management, and safe and efficient mining operations. This integrated program helps students understand how civil infrastructure supports mining activities and how resource engineering contributes to large-scale industrial development. The course is delivered by experienced academics involved in cutting-edge research, ensuring students are exposed to current technologies and industry practices. Practical learning through laboratories, design projects, and collaborative engineering tasks strengthens problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
