COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Double Major in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering) is a 240-credit-point program designed to build strong technical expertise and professional engineering capability across both infrastructure and environmental systems. The degree is structured over multiple years, beginning with a 48-credit-point first year that introduces core engineering foundations such as mathematics, physics, engineering design, problem-solving, and introductory discipline knowledge. From the second year onwards, students undertake a 192-credit-point double major combining Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, where they develop advanced skills in structural engineering, construction management, geotechnical systems, transport engineering, water resources, environmental modelling, sustainability, and pollution control. This integrated approach allows students to understand how civil infrastructure and environmental systems work together in modern sustainable development. The program also includes 18 credit points of professional options, which may involve industry-relevant electives, technical projects, or applied learning experiences that strengthen workplace readiness. Students are taught by experienced academics engaged in cutting-edge research and are trained to apply engineering theory to real-world problems through laboratories, design projects, and collaborative teamwork. Graduates are well prepared for careers in civil infrastructure development, environmental consultancy, water and resource management, construction industries, and sustainable engineering roles across government and private sectors, with strong professional skills in communication, innovation, and project delivery.
