COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Criminology with the Legal Studies major is a 144-credit-point program designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of criminology, justice systems, and legal principles within the Australian context. The degree includes 48 credit points of core criminology subjects completed across three years, alongside the 48-credit-point Legal Studies major, which focuses on the structure of the Australian legal system, court processes, and key areas of private law such as contract law and tort law. Students critically examine the relationship between law, justice, ethics, and society while developing analytical, communication, and legal research skills relevant to a wide range of professional settings. The program also includes 48 credit points of electives, allowing students to customise their studies according to their personal interests and career aspirations. Elective choices may include specialised legal and social science subjects such as family law, international business law, taxation law, public policy, criminology, and social justice studies.
