COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Creative Arts (Performance and Theatre major) at the University of Wollongong is a 144-credit point undergraduate program designed to develop students as versatile, independent, and industry-ready performers and theatre practitioners. The degree is structured over three years of full-time study, with 48 credit points completed in each year. In the first year, students build foundational skills in acting, voice, movement, and production, gaining essential understanding of performance techniques and stagecraft. This stage introduces core principles of theatre-making and helps students develop confidence in both individual and ensemble work. In the second year, students progress to more specialised training in performance and stagecraft, where they refine their artistic abilities and begin developing original performance work. These works are presented in professional, state-of-the-art theatre environments, allowing students to gain real-world performance experience. In the third year, students engage in advanced performance projects that reflect industry expectations and professional standards, focusing on creating high-quality, polished work suitable for public presentation.
