COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Computer Science (Game and Mobile Development) at the University of Wollongong is a 144-credit point undergraduate program designed to equip students with strong technical computing skills and specialised expertise in interactive media, gaming, and mobile application development. The degree includes 78 credit points of core computer science subjects that provide a solid foundation in programming, algorithms, data structures, computer systems, networking, databases, web technologies, systems analysis, human–computer interaction, and project management. These core subjects develop essential problem-solving and technical skills required for advanced software and game development. Students also complete 6 credit points of core selection subjects, allowing limited flexibility to explore related computing areas. The program includes a 24-credit point major in Game and Mobile Development, where students learn to design and develop applications for platforms such as computers, smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices. Key study areas include mobile application development, interactive computer graphics, game engine fundamentals, and virtual and augmented reality technologies. The major also encourages creative thinking, visualisation, interaction design, and communication skills to support engaging digital experiences. Students are encouraged to select electives from creative arts to strengthen design and storytelling capabilities. In the final year, students complete a 12-credit point capstone annual project, working in teams to solve real-world development challenges using industry-standard tools and collaborative practices.
