COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business (International Business) at the University of Wollongong is a 144-credit point undergraduate degree completed over three years of full-time study. In the first year, students undertake core business foundation subjects that introduce essential areas such as accounting principles, economics, marketing, management, business law, and responsible business practices. These subjects help students build a strong understanding of how organisations operate and how business decisions are made in both domestic and global contexts. In the second and third years, students specialise in the International Business major, where they study how organisations operate across national borders and engage in global trade and investment. Key subjects include international management, international financial management, and global business strategy, along with elective topics such as employment relations, strategic management, and trade and industry studies, particularly focusing on regions like Southeast Asia. The program also develops understanding of socio-economic, legal, political, financial, and cultural factors that influence international markets. In the final year, students complete a capstone subject where they apply their knowledge to real-world global business challenges, often working collaboratively with students from other disciplines to simulate professional environments. Alongside core and major subjects, students complete electives or may choose a second major or minor from business or related fields, allowing flexibility in shaping their career path. Overall, the curriculum prepares graduates for careers in multinational companies, global trade, consulting, and international business development roles.
