COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business (Economics) is a 144-credit point undergraduate degree designed to be completed over three years of full-time study. The curriculum begins in the first year with core business foundation subjects that provide students with essential knowledge in areas such as accounting, business law, marketing, management, and introductory economics. These subjects help students understand how organisations operate and how economic principles influence business decision-making. In the second and third years, students specialise in the Economics major, where they develop advanced skills in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and applied economic analysis. The program focuses on how individuals, firms, and governments allocate scarce resources and how economic systems respond to policy changes and market forces. Students also learn to use quantitative and analytical tools to evaluate economic issues such as inflation, unemployment, trade, and economic development. In the final year, students complete a capstone subject where they integrate their learning by analysing real-world economic and business problems, often working collaboratively with students from other disciplines to strengthen teamwork and applied problem-solving skills. Alongside core and major subjects, students complete elective subjects or may choose a second major from business or related fields, allowing flexibility to tailor their degree.
