COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) at the University of Wollongong requires the completion of 144 credit points structured to provide both foundational knowledge and flexibility in study choices. The core component consists of 84 credit points of Psychology subjects, which cover key areas such as cognitive, developmental, social, biological, and applied psychology, along with research methods and psychological assessment. In addition to the core psychology subjects, students must complete 6 credit points from approved 100-level subjects offered by the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, which help build broader academic skills and interdisciplinary understanding. Students then choose either an additional 24 credit points of Psychology subjects if they wish to meet the eligibility requirements for Honours, or they may complete remaining elective credit points from within the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities or from the General Schedule, allowing for flexibility and personal academic interest. The program also includes an important rule that students cannot complete more than 60 credit points at the 100-level, ensuring that they progress to more advanced and specialised study in higher years.
