COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts at the University of Wollongong Eurobodalla campus is a 144-credit point undergraduate degree designed to be completed over three years of full-time study. The curriculum combines foundational learning, specialised study, and flexible electives to help students develop strong analytical, communication, and critical thinking skills. In the first year, students typically begin with introductory 100-level subjects that build academic writing, research skills, and basic disciplinary understanding. As they progress into second year, they study 200-level subjects that deepen knowledge in their chosen fields, and in the third year, 300-level subjects focus on advanced concepts and independent thinking. A key requirement of the degree is the completion of a 48-credit point major, where students specialise in one primary discipline such as History, Sociology, English Literatures, Indigenous Studies, or Community, Culture and Environment. In addition, students must complete either a 24-credit point minor or a second major, depending on their academic goals. The remaining credits are completed through elective subjects, allowing flexibility to explore other areas of interest within or outside the Arts faculty, while ensuring a maximum limit on introductory-level study. The Eurobodalla campus offers a more limited but focused selection of subjects compared to the main Wollongong campus, with an emphasis on community-oriented learning and smaller class sizes, providing a personalised educational experience.
