COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Professional Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering specialisation) is designed to provide advanced technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and professional engineering skills required for careers in electrical systems, electronics, communications, power engineering, and emerging smart technologies. The core component includes foundational and advanced engineering units such as Circuits and Electronic Systems, Communications Systems, Signal Processing, Digital System Design, Power System Analysis, Control Engineering, and a major Advanced Electrical and Electronic Engineering Design project. These units build strong expertise in analysing, designing, and optimising electrical and electronic systems used in modern industries. The specialisation offers further depth through elective units in areas such as mobile robotics, advanced communications, analogue electronics, digital microelectronics, power electronics, instrumentation and control, semiconductor nanoelectronics, modern control systems, and renewable energy technologies. Students can also extend their learning into interdisciplinary areas including artificial intelligence, computer vision, mobile and wireless computing, smart grids, microgrids, energy storage systems, biomedical instrumentation, numerical modelling, and materials characterisation. Additional options include professional communication and systems thinking subjects that strengthen workplace readiness and engineering practice.
