COURSE CURRICULUM

The Agricultural Technology course is structured across three levels, combining agricultural science, data analysis, and modern technology to prepare students for contemporary farming and agribusiness careers. In Level 1, students complete core introductory units including AGRI1001 Feeding the World (6 points), which explores global food systems and agricultural challenges, SCIE1104 Science, Society and Data Analysis (6 points), which builds scientific reasoning and data interpretation skills, and SCOM1101 Communicating Science (6 points), which develops effective scientific communication. Depending on prior academic background, students may also complete bridging units such as CHEM1003 Introductory Chemistry (6 points), MATH1720 Mathematics Fundamentals (6 points), or SCIE1500 Analytical Methods for Scientists (6 points) to strengthen foundational knowledge in chemistry and mathematics. In Level 2, core studies include AGRI2201 Pasture and Livestock Systems (6 points), focusing on animal production and grazing systems, GEOG2201 Geographic Information Systems (6 points), which introduces spatial analysis tools used in agriculture, and SCIE2205 Science Work Placement (6 points), providing industry experience. In Level 3, advanced units such as AGRI3003 Decisions from Data in Agriculture (6 points), ECON3300 Agricultural Economics and Marketing (6 points), GEOG3301 Advanced GIS and Remote Sensing (6 points), and SCIE3314 Crops and Cropping Systems (6 points) prepare students for data-driven decision-making and sustainable agricultural management.
