COURSE CURRICULUM

The Agribusiness major is structured across three progressive levels, combining business, economics, science, and agricultural studies to prepare students for roles in the global food and fibre industries. At Level 1, students complete core introductory units including Business Reporting and Analysis, Feeding the World, Economics for Business, Introduction to Marketing, and Science, Society and Data Analysis. These units provide a foundation in business principles, economic thinking, scientific understanding, and the challenges of global food production. Bridging units in mathematics or scientific analysis may also be required for students needing additional preparation. At Level 2, students focus on applied agricultural and economic knowledge through Pasture and Livestock Systems, Business Economics, and Science Work Placement, which provides practical industry experience and exposure to real-world agribusiness environments. At Level 3, students undertake advanced study in Agribusiness Planning and Management, Clean, Green and Ethical Animal Production, Agricultural Economics and Marketing, and Scaling and Commercialising Start-ups. These units develop strategic, ethical, and entrepreneurial skills relevant to modern agricultural industries. Overall, the course integrates theory and practice to equip students with analytical, managerial, and problem-solving skills for careers in agribusiness, agricultural management, marketing, consulting, and sustainable food production systems globally.
