COURSE CURRICULUM

The Agribusiness and Agricultural Sciences course structure is designed to integrate agricultural science with business, economics, and management skills to prepare students for the modern agrifood sector. At Level 1, students complete core foundational units such as Business Reporting and Analysis, Feeding the World, Plant and Animal Biology, Economics for Business, Introduction to Marketing, and Science, Society and Data Analysis, which provide a broad understanding of business principles, agricultural systems, and scientific literacy. Bridging units in mathematics and analytical methods are available for students who require additional preparation. At Level 2, students build specialised knowledge through units including Pasture and Livestock Systems, Business Economics, Principles of Inheritance, Geographic Information Systems, and Science Work Placement, combining agricultural science with real-world industry experience and analytical tools. Level 3 focuses on advanced agribusiness and agricultural applications, with units such as Agribusiness Planning and Management, Clean, Green and Ethical Animal Production, Agricultural Economics and Marketing, Advanced GIS and Remote Sensing, Scaling and Commercialising Start-ups, and Crops and Cropping Systems. The course emphasises the integration of scientific understanding with business strategy, enabling students to analyse production systems, improve efficiency, and enhance profitability in sustainable ways. Graduates are well prepared for careers in agribusiness management, agricultural consultancy, food production industries, marketing, supply chain management, and entrepreneurship within the agricultural and food sectors.
