COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum spans three years and includes foundational units in biology, chemistry, and mathematics in the first year. Second-year studies delve into marine biology, oceanography, and coastal processes, with electives in ecology and geology. The third year focuses on advanced topics such as marine conservation, fisheries science, and climate impacts, culminating in a research project or capstone unit. Students complete 24 units (144 credit points), including core marine science modules, broadening units, and electives. Practical components include field trips to locations like the Indian Ocean and Albany, emphasizing research methods, GIS, and statistical analysis. The program allows for majors in Marine Biology or Coastal and Ocean Systems.
