COURSE CURRICULUM

The Architecture major is structured across three progressive levels, combining design studios, technical knowledge, and architectural theory to develop creative and professional design skills. At Level 1, students complete foundational units including Architecture Studio 1, Drawing History, Early Modern Architecture, and Techniques of Visualisation. These units introduce core design principles, architectural history, drawing techniques, and visual communication skills that support creative thinking and design development. At Level 2, students build on these foundations through Architecture Studio 2, Modern Architecture, and Environmental Design, where they develop more advanced studio projects while learning about contemporary architectural movements and sustainable design principles. At Level 3, students undertake Architecture Studio 3, which provides an intensive design experience focused on complex architectural projects. They also study History and Theories of the Built Environment, which explores critical ideas shaping architecture and urban spaces. In addition, students choose an elective such as Advanced Design Thinking or Active Matter to further specialise in design innovation or material exploration. Across all levels, the course integrates creative practice, historical knowledge, and environmental awareness, preparing students for professional careers in architecture, urban design, and the built environment industries, while fostering critical thinking and innovative design solutions.
