COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Economics major is structured across three levels and provides students with a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative methods, and policy analysis. At Level 1, students complete core introductory units in Microeconomics: Prices and Markets and Macroeconomics: Money and Finance, which introduce the basic principles of how markets function and how national economies operate. Students who require additional preparation may also complete a bridging unit in Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics. At Level 2, students progress to more applied study through Microeconomics: Policy and Applications and Macroeconomics: Policy and Applications, alongside elective options such as Rise of the Global Economy, Asia in the World Economy, Monetary Economics, Business Economics, Introductory Econometrics, and Intermediate Mathematics for Economists. These units strengthen analytical and quantitative skills while exploring real-world economic issues. At Level 3, students select from a wide range of advanced electives including Health Economics, Development Economics, International Trade, International Finance, Game Theory and Strategic Thinking, Applied Microeconomics, Applied Macroeconomics, Applied Econometric Methods and Data Analysis, and Economic Policy. Overall, the major develops strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills, preparing graduates for careers in economics, finance, consulting, government policy, research, and related professional fields.
