COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Analytics major is structured across three levels, combining computing, statistics, economics, and marketing to develop strong data analysis and decision-making skills. At Level 1, students complete core foundational units including Computational Thinking with Python and Economic and Business Statistics, which introduce programming, quantitative reasoning, and basic data analysis skills. A bridging unit in Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics may also be required for some students. At Level 2, the major expands into two study streams: Economic and Financial Analytics, and Management and Marketing Analytics. Core units include Data Storytelling for Business and Introductory Econometrics, with additional options such as Introduction to Data Science, Practical Finance Analytics, Business Analysis and Valuation, and Marketing Research, allowing students to build specialised analytical expertise. At Level 3, students choose advanced electives from Group A, including Applied Econometric Methods and Data Analysis, Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, and Applied Statistics and Data Visualisation. They also select from Group B options such as a Business Development Project, Economic Analysis Project, or Work Integrated Learning Internship Program, providing practical industry experience. Overall, the course develops strong technical, statistical, and communication skills, preparing graduates for careers in data analytics, business intelligence, finance, marketing, consulting, and technology-driven industries.
