COURSE CURRICULUM

The Wildlife Conservation course structure is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in biology, ecology, conservation science, and environmental management through progressive levels of study. At Level 1, students develop core scientific knowledge through units such as Frontiers in Biology, Plant and Animal Biology, Science, Society and Data Analysis, and Indigenous Heritage and Knowledge, which introduces important perspectives on environmental stewardship and traditional ecological understanding. Bridging units in mathematics and analytical methods are available for students who require additional preparation for scientific studies. At Level 2, the program focuses on animal biology, ecology, biodiversity, and conservation through subjects including Animal Form and Function, Animal Diversity, Field Studies in Zoology, Conservation Biology, Ecology, Global Climate Change and Biodiversity, and Geographic Information Systems. These units provide practical and theoretical understanding of ecosystems, environmental threats, and research techniques. Level 3 builds advanced expertise in wildlife conservation and environmental science with units covering wildlife management, animal ecology, environmental physiology, behavioural ecology, endangered species conservation, evolutionary processes, and environmental policy and planning. The course combines classroom learning with field-based experiences, helping students develop scientific, analytical, and practical conservation skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in wildlife conservation, environmental management, ecological research, biodiversity protection, government agencies, and conservation policy development.
