COURSE CURRICULUM

The course structure is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in human biology, pathology, and medical sciences through progressive levels of study. At Level 1, students complete core units such as Human Biology II: Being Human and Molecular Biology of the Cell, which introduce essential concepts related to human body systems, cellular processes, and biological function. Students who do not meet prerequisite requirements in biology, human biology, chemistry, or mathematics may need to complete bridging units, including Introductory Chemistry, Human Biology I, Frontiers in Biology, Form and Function, or Mathematics Fundamentals, ensuring they are academically prepared for advanced coursework. At Level 2, students focus on pathology through units like Principles of Human Disease and Pathology of Body Systems, gaining knowledge of disease mechanisms, diagnosis, and the impact of illnesses on different organ systems. Level 3 builds advanced expertise in specialized medical science fields, including immunobiology, immune diseases, medical genetics, biotherapeutics, regenerative medicine, and cancer pathology. These units emphasize modern medical research, genetic understanding, disease treatment, and emerging healthcare technologies. Overall, the course equips students with scientific knowledge, research skills, and practical understanding necessary for careers in biomedical science, pathology, healthcare, and medical research.
