COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Pharmacy at UTS provides students with a comprehensive education that integrates pharmaceutical sciences, therapeutics, and professional pharmacy practice. Throughout the program, students combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills, learning how to design, develop, implement, and evaluate pharmacy services. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for diverse career paths, with elective subjects allowing students to explore areas of personal interest and tailor their learning to match their professional goals. Students engage in clinical practice across a range of settings, gaining hands-on experience in community and hospital pharmacies. Eligible students are guaranteed a hospital pharmacy placement, ensuring exposure to real-world healthcare environments and patient interactions. On-campus learning is delivered in the Graduate School of Health's modern education and research facility, which provides state-of-the-art laboratories and simulation spaces to support advanced learning and practical skills development. Core subjects cover foundational areas such as Introduction to Pharmacy, Concepts in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Drug Disposition, Evidence-based Practice, and Integrated Therapeutics. Students also develop professional competencies through courses in Professional Services, Primary Health Care, and Molecule to Market, which focus on patient care, healthcare delivery, and pharmaceutical innovation. The clinical practice subjects, from Clinical Practice 1 through Clinical Practice 4, provide progressive experiential learning, allowing students to apply their knowledge in practical, supervised settings and build confidence in their professional abilities.By the end of the program, graduates will have developed strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills essential for effective pharmacy practice. They will be equipped to enter their intern year, pursue registration as pharmacists, and make a meaningful contribution to patient care and the healthcare system.
