COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Clinical Psychology at UTS provides comprehensive training in professional clinical practice, combining rigorous academic study, research, and practical experience. The program is delivered by academic staff who are all experienced, practising clinical psychologists, ensuring that learning is grounded in real-world professional practice. Students develop strong clinical skills through expert supervision in the on-campus university clinic as well as through external placements, preparing them to work across a broad range of clinical psychology areas.To complete the course, students undertake 96 credit points, including 24 credit points dedicated to research, alongside 1,000 clinical hours. The curriculum covers foundational and advanced clinical psychology topics, from child and adolescent clinical psychology to adult clinical practice, clinical health psychology, assessment across the lifespan, and advanced clinical skills. In addition, students engage in a series of research projects to develop evidence-based practice competencies. Four structured clinical placements are integrated into the program to ensure students gain hands-on experience with diverse client populations.This combination of research, theory, and supervised practice equips graduates with the expertise required for professional registration and prepares them to deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical care. The program emphasizes the development of practical skills, critical thinking, and ethical professional practice, positioning students for successful careers in clinical psychology across health, educational, and community settings.
