COURSE CURRICULUM

The Juris Doctor Master of Business Administration at UTS is structured as a comprehensive four-year full-time program designed to integrate advanced legal education with essential business management skills. The course combines 13 core law subjects, 8 core business subjects, 3 law option subjects, 1 legal theory option, and 4 business law sub-major subjects, providing a balanced and interdisciplinary learning experience. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in both disciplines by studying core subjects that introduce key concepts in business, leadership, legal foundations, legal ethics, and marketing. The second year focuses on deepening academic knowledge in core legal areas such as contract law and constitutional law, while also strengthening business understanding in financial management and economics. Students begin to tailor their academic pathway by selecting specialist subjects aligned with their professional interests. In the third year, students expand their legal expertise through advanced study in areas such as property law, administrative law, and international law, while simultaneously developing strategic management skills within the business curriculum. The final year allows students to complete remaining core requirements and focus on specialised electives, enabling them to refine their expertise in chosen areas. This structured progression ensures graduates develop strong analytical, strategic, and professional capabilities, preparing them for complex roles in legal practice, corporate environments, and interdisciplinary fields where business and law intersect effectively.
