COURSE CURRICULUM

The UTS Bachelor of Science is designed for aspiring scientists who want to address global challenges such as pandemics, climate change, and antibiotic resistance while building the skills to become leaders in creating a resilient future for humanity and the planet. The curriculum combines foundational knowledge with specialised study, covering areas such as pharmacology, immunology, haematology, pathophysiology, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, and environmental and medical biotechnology. Students begin with a 'scientist’s toolkit', which equips them with critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills that form the basis for applying scientific solutions to complex real-world issues. The program offers extensive flexibility, allowing students to choose from eight majors and a wide range of electives, enabling them to design a personalised study plan aligned with their career goals and interests. Beyond theoretical learning, the course emphasises practical, hands-on experience, providing access to world-class laboratories and industry-grade equipment. Students engage in laboratory work, field studies, professional placements, internships, and global exchanges, gaining real-world experience that enhances their understanding of scientific principles and their applications.
