COURSE CURRICULUM

This combined degree comprises a total of 192 credit points and integrates studies in Psychology and Criminology to develop a strong understanding of human behaviour and the criminal justice system. The Psychology component consists of 84 credit points of core subjects, where students build foundational knowledge in areas such as cognitive processes, biological psychology, developmental psychology, and research methods. This equips students with scientific and analytical skills to understand how individuals think, feel, and behave. The Criminology component includes 72 credit points of core subjects that focus on crime, criminal behaviour, justice systems, and the social and institutional responses to crime. Students examine the causes and consequences of criminal activity as well as approaches to crime prevention and control. In addition, the course includes 36 credit points of electives, allowing students to tailor their studies according to personal interests or career goals, potentially exploring areas such as forensic psychology, law, sociology, or public policy. The structure ensures a balanced integration of psychological theory and criminological analysis, supported by flexible learning options. Graduates develop strong research, critical thinking, and analytical skills, preparing them for careers in criminal justice, social services, policy development, or further study in psychology and related disciplines.
