COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Medical Science combined with the Bachelor of Laws requires the completion of 240 credit points and leads to two separate qualifications: the Bachelor of Medical Science and the Bachelor of Laws. The law component consists of 144 credit points, including 108 credit points of compulsory core law subjects that build a strong foundation in legal principles and practice. Students also complete 30 credit points of law options, which may include specialised areas or legal futures and technology subjects, along with a 6-credit-point legal theory subject that develops critical understanding of law and its broader context. The Medical Science component comprises 96 credit points of core subjects, providing comprehensive knowledge in areas such as human biology, disease processes, medical technologies, and scientific research methods. To qualify for both degrees, students must complete at least 96 credit points in each discipline. While students graduate with two separate awards, progression rules require completion of both components before final graduation conditions are met. If students wish to graduate early in one discipline, they may transfer to the single-degree program and complete the required standalone structure. The combined program integrates scientific and legal education, preparing graduates for careers in healthcare law, medical research, policy development, regulatory affairs, and roles that bridge science, medicine, and the legal system.
