COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Honours) at UTS is a 192-credit-point program designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in landscape design, environmental planning, and ecological systems. The degree is structured around 138 credit points of core Landscape Architecture (Honours) subjects, which form the foundation of the program and focus on developing expertise in design studios, landscape theory, environmental systems, construction techniques, and research-led practice. These core subjects progressively build students’ ability to design sustainable, resilient, and responsive landscapes that address complex environmental and urban challenges. In addition, students complete 54 credit points of Options subjects, allowing them to broaden their learning or specialise in areas of interest such as urban design, ecology, sustainability, or advanced landscape technologies. This flexible structure enables students to tailor their studies while maintaining a strong professional core. The program is delivered through a full-time study load of 24 credit points per session, supporting a consistent and immersive learning experience. Studio-based learning, research projects, and real-world design challenges ensure that students gain both conceptual understanding and practical experience. Overall, the course prepares graduates for advanced practice in landscape architecture, equipping them with the creative, technical, and environmental skills needed to design and manage landscapes that are socially meaningful, ecologically responsible, and future-focused.
