COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Information Technology and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is a 240-credit-point double degree designed to integrate comprehensive legal education with advanced information technology training, preparing graduates for careers at the intersection of law, policy, and digital innovation. The program awards two separate qualifications upon completion: the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and the Bachelor of Information Technology. The Law component consists of 144 credit points and includes 108 credit points of compulsory core law subjects that provide a strong foundation in Australian legal systems, principles, and practice. Students also complete a 6-credit-point legal theory subject and a 30-credit-point law elective structure, which may include combinations of advanced electives, research methodology, research thesis work, capstone subjects focused on technology law and innovation, applied legal projects, and internship or disruptive technology-focused subjects. This structure allows students to develop advanced legal research, analytical, and practical skills aligned with emerging legal challenges in technology-driven environments. The Information Technology component consists of 96 credit points, including 48 credit points of core IT subjects that build essential computing, programming, systems analysis, and problem-solving skills, along with a 48-credit-point IT major for specialised study. This integrated program equips graduates to work in legal practice, regulatory technology, cybersecurity law, IT consultancy, policy development, and other interdisciplinary roles requiring expertise in both law and information technology.
