COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering Science is a 144-credit-point program designed to provide a strong foundation in engineering principles while allowing flexibility through major selection and elective study. The course structure includes an Engineering Science core of 36 credit points, which develops essential knowledge in mathematics, physics, and fundamental engineering concepts. Students also complete a 6-credit-point Engineering Science Project, where they apply theoretical learning to practical, real-world engineering challenges and develop problem-solving and teamwork skills. A significant portion of the degree, 84 credit points, is dedicated to an Engineering Science major, which students select at admission based on their area of interest, though there is flexibility to change majors later if needed. This allows students to explore different engineering disciplines before committing to a specialised pathway. Additionally, 18 credit points of electives enable students to broaden their learning across complementary fields or deepen expertise in specific areas. Those admitted into the flexible major stream are encouraged to finalise their chosen direction by the end of their first year of full-time study, after which they may transfer into a designated major or continue within the flexible structure. Overall, the program balances core technical training, specialised knowledge, and adaptable study options to prepare students for diverse engineering careers or further study.
