COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science is a 246-credit-point double degree designed to integrate advanced engineering education with a strong foundation in scientific knowledge, preparing graduates for careers that bridge engineering innovation and scientific discovery. The Engineering component consists of 168 credit points, including 48 credit points of engineering core subjects that provide essential grounding in mathematics, engineering principles, design, and analytical problem-solving. Students also complete a 114-credit-point engineering major, selected at the time of admission, with the flexibility to change majors later depending on academic interests and career goals. The program includes a Professional Engineering Practice stream that incorporates at least 12 weeks of industry experience, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world engineering environments and gain valuable professional exposure. The Science component comprises 78 credit points, consisting of a dedicated science major that enables students to specialise in areas such as physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, or related scientific disciplines. Students are required to select both their engineering and science majors at admission, although changes may be possible during early stages of study. This integrated structure develops strong technical, scientific, and analytical capabilities while fostering problem-solving, innovation, and research skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in engineering design, scientific research, technology development, environmental systems, biotechnology, and other industries where science and engineering intersect, making them highly versatile professionals in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
