COURSE CURRICULUM

This double degree requires the completion of 246 credit points, combining Engineering and Medical Science to develop graduates with strong interdisciplinary expertise. The Engineering component accounts for 168 credit points and includes 48 credit points of Engineering core subjects that build foundational knowledge in mathematics, science, and engineering principles. Students also complete a Professional Engineering Practice stream worth 6 credit points, which includes 12 weeks of industry experience to ensure exposure to real-world engineering environments and professional standards. A major part of the engineering study is the 114-credit-point Engineering major, selected at admission, with the option to change later; students in the flexible pathway are expected to finalise their major by the end of the first year of full-time study. The Medical Science component contributes 78 credit points through a dedicated Medical Science major, where students gain in-depth knowledge of human biology, disease processes, laboratory techniques, and biomedical applications. This structure ensures a balanced integration of technical engineering skills with advanced scientific understanding of health and medicine. Graduates are prepared for careers in biomedical engineering, healthcare innovation, medical research, diagnostics, and related industries.
