COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechatronic Engineering at UTS provides a structured and practice-oriented program focused on understanding and controlling the science of motion, electrical systems, and intelligent machines. Students study how solid objects move and interact, and how mechanical and electrical systems can be designed and integrated with computer control to create automated and autonomous systems. The course places strong emphasis on robotics, smart machines, intelligent control systems, and biomedical devices, preparing students for work in advanced engineering fields. The program begins with foundational core subjects such as Physical Modelling, Mathematics 1 and 2, and Introduction to Engineering Projects, which build essential analytical and problem-solving skills. Students also develop professional capabilities through subjects like Engineering Project Appraisal, Designing Sustainable Engineering Projects, and Professional Engineering Communication. Teamwork and industry readiness are reinforced through Collaboration in Complex Projects, Professional Practice Preparation, and Professional Experience Review. The degree structure includes a combination of major engineering subjects, electives, and a Professional Engineering Practice stream, allowing students to gain both depth and flexibility in their learning.
