COURSE CURRICULUM

In this course, you will complete a range of core studies designed to build your skills in modelling, mathematics and project management. Your Biomedical major introduces you to fundamental areas of biology, human anatomy and tissue engineering, as well as coding, electrical and electronic engineering, biomechanical engineering, additive manufacturing and health economics. You can tailor your learning by selecting subjects that match your interests, such as biomedical instrumentation, biomedical polymers, microfluidics or artificial intelligence. You also have the option to further specialise with an Engineering sub-major or expand your knowledge through electives from areas like business, science or the arts. Core subjects include Physical Modelling, Mathematics 1 and Mathematics 2, Introduction to Engineering Projects, Engineering Project Appraisal, Designing Sustainable Engineering Projects, Professional Engineering Communication, Collaboration in Complex Projects, Professional Practice Preparation 1 and Professional Experience Review. These subjects ensure you gain a strong technical foundation while developing the professional capabilities needed in the biomedical engineering field.
