COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Economics/Bachelor of Sustainability and Environment comprises a total of 192 credit points, allowing students to graduate with two separate degrees that combine expertise in economics with multidisciplinary knowledge of sustainability and environmental studies. The Economics component consists of 96 credit points, including eleven core subjects worth 66 credit points that provide a strong foundation in key areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and economic analysis. Students also complete five elective subjects totaling 30 credit points, enabling them to tailor their studies according to their academic interests and career goals. The Sustainability and Environment component also comprises 96 credit points and includes six core subjects worth 42 credit points that introduce fundamental concepts in sustainability, environmental management, and sustainable development. In addition, students complete 54 credit points of elective subjects drawn from diverse disciplines, including Science, Governance and Policy, Society and Culture, Engineering, and Environmental Science. This interdisciplinary structure allows students to develop a broad understanding of the environmental, social, technological, and policy dimensions of sustainability while complementing their economic expertise. The balanced curriculum provides flexibility for specialization and equips graduates with analytical, practical, and problem-solving skills required to address complex sustainability challenges and pursue careers in environmental policy, economic consulting, sustainable business, government, research, and resource management.
