COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Economics/Bachelor of Laws comprises a total of 240 credit points, enabling students to graduate with two separate qualifications while developing comprehensive expertise in both economics and law. The Law component accounts for 144 credit points and provides a strong foundation in legal knowledge and professional skills. It includes 108 credit points of compulsory core law subjects covering the fundamental principles and areas of legal practice, ensuring students meet the academic requirements for admission to practise law. Students also complete 30 credit points of law options, with the flexibility to choose either general law electives or the innovative Legal Futures and Technology options, allowing them to specialize in emerging areas of legal practice and technology. In addition, a 6-credit-point legal theory option enhances students' understanding of legal philosophy and critical analysis. The Economics component consists of 96 credit points, including 66 credit points of core economics subjects that build strong analytical and quantitative capabilities across key areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. Students also complete 30 credit points of elective economics subjects, providing opportunities to explore specialized interests and broaden their economic expertise. This balanced curriculum equips graduates with interdisciplinary knowledge, practical skills, and the flexibility to pursue diverse careers across legal, economic, corporate, government, and policy sectors.
