COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Design in Interior Architecture and Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation at UTS is a 240-credit-point double degree that integrates professional spatial design education with transdisciplinary innovation studies. The Interior Architecture component comprises 144 credit points and focuses on developing advanced skills in spatial design, conceptual thinking, research-led practice, and digital and analogue fabrication. Through studio-based learning, students gain the ability to design interior, public, and urban environments that respond to human experience, atmosphere, and context, while also developing a strong personal design language. The Creative Intelligence and Innovation component accounts for 96 credit points and is delivered in an accelerated format through intensive July and Summer sessions across the first three years, followed by a full year of study after completion of the professional degree. It is not offered as a standalone qualification and must be completed alongside the Interior Architecture degree. This component develops interdisciplinary capabilities in critical and creative thinking, entrepreneurship, collaboration, complexity management, and future-focused problem-solving through real-world projects and transdisciplinary learning. Together, the two components provide a balanced and flexible learning experience that combines technical spatial design expertise with high-level creative intelligence, preparing graduates for dynamic careers in interior architecture, urban and spatial design, and broader creative and innovation-driven industries.
